Design delights me. I love color and have beautiful walls in my home in orange (with darker overcoat) in a hallway, loden green (in my bedroom) and aqua in one bathroom. I am presently contemplating deep rich gold on one of the living room walls.
So I suspect that my use of color contributes to my love of design on web pages. I have been reading about design on sites/blogs for years: (1) Jeffrey Zeldman–(I read two from him: his life and his work ), (2) Mike Davidson (read here: with the added feature that you can pick your own design), (3) Greg Storey who does a great job of listing recent posts from other sites with a little explanation in case the title of the post still seems vague, (4) Jacob Nielsen who keeps us up-to-date on usability issues, (5) Dan Cederholm who is basic enough for me to be able to follow his ideas, and (6) Shelley Powers.

One of the more comprehensive blogs about designers who blog is at designers-who-blog..The list there includes several designers who have shared much information and who continue to be trend-setters.

I will be 65 years of age in a few weeks and have found a wonderful symbol of that fact at melange. She has a photo of a glass jar filled with marbles. So when I go shopping I plan to get that jar–I’ll
probably need a glass pitcher–and fill it with marbles. I love color.
